[00:00:00]
[00:01:00] Hey, my friend, what is up? And welcome back to another episode of Do Life Big. I am so excited that you are here with me today because today's episode is going to be so, so, so good. Today I really wanted to talk about something that I know that you've probably felt at one point or another in your business or maybe even in your life.
I mean, I really don't think that you'd be human if you didn't feel this at some point or another. But that heavy draining kind of stuck energy. Do you know what I'm talking about? You know the one where you just feel like everything seems so hard and like you're pushing this big boulder up a hill every single day.
I know I've been there. I'm sure at one point or another in your business or life, you can think of a time where things felt like that. Maybe things feel like that right now. And here's the truth. It's not how it's supposed to feel, and I know that you know that because no one likes to feel this way.
Right? When it [00:02:00] feels heavy and it feels hard, and it just doesn't feel like it's in alignment, that's when you start to question whether or not you're really on the right path or not. Right? Business should feel fun. It should feel fun. It should feel light. It should feel exciting. Even when it's challenging, that doesn't mean that it's not going to be hard and you're not going to have hurdles that you need to overcome.
Of course, it's going to be, of course, it's gonna be hard times. Of course, it's going to be a lot of work, but it should still feel fun and you should feel pulled toward your vision. You should have this feeling like you are being pulled forward toward your vision and not weighed down just by all this pressure or need or almost sense of desperation for things to work out for you.
And here's what happens when we start operating from this place of desperation or need and listen. I have been there, so I get it. I know exactly what this feels like and it totally sucks, so I'm not calling you out. I have been there and we've all been there. But we need to learn how to [00:03:00] work through this because it should not feel like this.
So I digress just a little bit, but when we start to operate from this place of desperation, need, and you start thinking thoughts in your head like, oh my gosh, like I need this launch to work. I need this business to work. I need to sign this client. I need to make certain amount of money. You know, by this amount of time I need the money to come in.
I need it right now. You start operating like that, everything instantly gets heavy. And instead of things flowing, then we start forcing and instead of creating and having this excitement, we start like gripping and holding on and grasping for dear life. And instead of showing up with confidence, now we start showing up with this pressure.
And here's the thing, the difference is everyone, including yourself, can feel and see and sense the difference. Let's just break this down for a second. Think about the last time that you were like really excited about something that you were offering, or something that you were doing.
Maybe it was a program, maybe it was a course, [00:04:00] maybe it was a new product, maybe it was a new business venture, like whatever it is. Even just maybe just a simple email that you sent. You weren't sitting there analyzing and overthinking every word, right? You weren't stressing about who's gonna buy it, who's gonna read it, who's going to commit to this, who's gonna join forces with me?
You were just so damn excited about it that you just shared it, right? You were literally in the energy of, oh my God, this is so damn good. This is so good. I just cannot wait to get this out there. I know that someone needs this. I know this is going to be awesome. I know this is going to help people, and you just put it out there.
And when you come at business with that kind of energy, that kind of energy feels light and. When things feel light, you are having more fun and you have more positive energy around you. And guess what? Because it's light and because it's fun and because you have this, it's like oozing out of your pores.
That is what attracts that kind of energy, is what [00:05:00] attracts what you want to you, because everything in life revolves off of your energy. And I, maybe you've heard this saying before, but the saying goes like this, your external world is a reflection of what's going on in your internal world, but how many times do we actually stop and get quiet and let the world stand still for a second and ask ourselves, is this really right for me?
Is this really what I want? Am I forcing this? Am I pushing it? Let me just sit with this and think about it for a minute. Right now, think about the opposite. Maybe you've launched something before and not even one single solitary person signed up right away and suddenly, instead of having excitement for this, now you're in your head.
And this is where we start to make things mean something negative about ourselves and what we're capable of doing. You know, no one signs right away. No one buys right away. And immediately, instead of being like, we need to connect with more people, this is part of the process. We're gonna keep going now.
[00:06:00] Instead, you start to think, well, maybe this just isn't the right thing for me. Maybe I'm not cut out to do this. And as soon as you start telling yourself these bullshit stories, your energy goes right into the shitter. And like I said, everything revolves around your energy. You're either constantly always repelling or attracting what you want or don't want.
So. Instead of getting excited. Now when this happens, you start tweaking things. You start doubting yourself. You start obsessively checking your phone, maybe even thinking about just getting rid of the whole damn thing. I'm never gonna do this again.
And that is all heavy, heavy energy. And the only thing that heavy energy does is it pushes people away. And I know that's not what you want. You don't wanna push people away. You want to attract them to you. You wanna have more clients, you wanna create more income, you wanna live a life of abundance. But when you're operating from this internal state of heavy energy, It pushes what you want away. It pushes people away. And so how can we shift from this [00:07:00] heavy energy to this light energy? Because you might be in this moment right now, and I've been there before too, and you may be in this. Moment right now thinking, God yes, this is exactly how I feel. Things feel fricking heavy.
I'm starting to question myself. I'm starting to doubt myself. I don't know if I'm really cut out to do this. I don't know if this is really the right path for me. Why do things feel so hard? Why does it feel like I'm pushing a boulder up a hill? And we need to know how to get out of that energy and shift from that energy to the light energy that's going to attract exactly what we want.
So do you wanna know how to do that? Because that's what we're gonna do right this second. All right? So get out a pen. Not if you're driving, maybe take a voice note in your phone. But here's what we're gonna do. There's gonna be three things that you are going to do when you start to notice this heavy energy, because it shouldn't feel like that.
Okay. Number one is you're gonna catch yourself in that need energy. Now, when I say need energy, you know what I'm talking about. It's this like place of desperation, energy, like, oh my God, this has to work out, or else this needs to work out because if it doesn't, ba B [00:08:00] ba, b ba, it's that underlying energy is coming from the source of need.
When you notice this happening, just ask yourself this question, am I really doing this because I love it. Or am I doing this because I need it to work? Which one is it? That awareness alone will show you when you're forcing energy instead of just flowing with it.
And you don't need to overthink this. Like if I was sitting with you right now and we were sitting at Starbucks and I was having my coffee and you were getting your, whatever you were getting, and I said to you, do you really love what you do? It should be an instinctual yes or no. Do you love what you do?
Or are you just doing this because you need it to work and you need the money? You immediately know the answer. It's that gut feeling. It's that gut immediate answer. That's your right answer, and you're gonna be able to learn a lot from just that one answer. So that's the first step. The second step is I want you to just pause, take a break, and reset.
Honestly, we don't do this enough. People in general do not do this enough because we are constantly on the go from one thing to the next, and [00:09:00] this is where you can tend to lose yourself and fall out of alignment to what you really want in this life. It's not what everybody else wants for you, it's how do you wanna live your life?
What's the legacy that you want to live for your family? But we're so busy in it that we don't take a second to just pause and reset. And sometimes the best thing that you can do when things feel really heavy is to just step away. And I'm talking about like stepping away. Like, alright, let's change the scenery here for a second.
Go outside, move your body, put on some fun music, dance in your kitchen, sing to it, laugh with your kids. Go play a game. Do something that's going to shift your state and remind you why you are doing this in the first place. Because pushing through it with that energy isn't gonna solve it, and you're just wasting your time.
So that's the second step. The third step is you need to reconnect with the fun. Guys, listen, I know building a business is a lot of work, but it should [00:10:00] be a lot of fun. You should be having fun. Life is meant to be made. For fun. You should be enjoying every step of the process, right?
So ask yourself, how can I make this feel fun again? Or how can I make this feel fun if it's never felt fun? And maybe it's just sharing some of the behind the scenes instead of like this polished sales pitch. Maybe it's getting together and collaborating with someone. Maybe it's really sitting down and thinking about the goals that you have and asking yourself, are these really in alignment?
Do they excite me? Because business should feel like you're playing a game, really. And when you find the fun. The pressure automatically falls away. See, the second that you stop having fun is the second that things start to suck and that energy starts to shift. We need to be having fun. You can be working hard and learning and having fun and growing and overcoming obstacles all at the [00:11:00] exact same time.
So I want you to think about that. Find the fun. How can you do that? How can you make this feel more playful for you so that you actually enjoy it? And here's the biggest mindset shift. Your business doesn't owe you instant results. Every single post, every single launch, every single conversation, every single phone call, every email, it's just a teeny, tiny seed being planted.
That's all it is. And when you approach those little seeds from a place of joy and excitement and fun and energy and confidence, guess what? You're gonna plant some better seeds, don't you think? And guess what? Then the results are going to come a whole hell of a lot faster than when you're weighed down by the need and the pressure of this having to work out for you.
So today I really want you to ask yourself. Where am I making things feel heavy, and what's one way that I can bring some fun and lightness back into it? That's your challenge for today. That's your [00:12:00] goal, because at the end of the day, people are drawn to the light energy they are. Everything is energy, whether it's light or heavy, but people are drawn.
Two, the light energy. They wanna be around people who are having fun, who are so excited, who are enjoying the process, who are talking about the future, who are making big moves, and just going for it. That's what makes you magnetic. So that's all I got for you today, my friend. I hope that you enjoyed it.
If this resonated with you, please share this with a friend who needs this reminder or tag me on Instagram at Katherine Reuter. And remember, business gets to be fun. Business gets to be light and playful, and when you show up in that energy, everything will shift for you. So until next time, go and do life big. Thanks so much for being here. You know, I love you. I think you're awesome, and I will see you the next time. Bye.[00:13:00]
