You Don’t Get What You Wish For, You Get What You Work For

The Summary!
(if you don't want to read the whole thing!)
- Wishing will only keep you stuck where you are — action is the only thing that moves you forward.
- Success doesn’t show up overnight — it’s a daily practice of showing up, staying consistent, and refusing to quit.
- The journey — the late nights, the messy pivots, the detours — is just as valuable as the destination.
- Every step you take builds your resilience, confidence, and capacity to hold the big dreams you’re chasing.
- Stop waiting for the “perfect moment.” Start now. The growth and reward are in who you become along the way.
↗️ SHIFT OF THE WEEK:
This week’s shift is one I had to remind myself of recently: stop wishing, start working.
Here’s the thing — it’s really easy to sit back and wish for the things we want. A better body, more clients, financial freedom, a business that runs smoothly. We can daydream all day about how great life would look “if only…” But here’s the harsh truth: wishing doesn’t move the needle.
When you put energy into action — even if it’s a small, imperfect, messy step — that’s when you unlock momentum. That’s when doors start to open. That’s when the path begins to reveal itself.
This week, I want you to ask yourself: What’s something you’ve been wishing for that you could start actively working toward today? It doesn’t need to be perfect. You don’t need all the answers. But you do need to begin!
🗣️ REAL TALK MOMENT:
Here’s the truth 👉wishing is easy, but wishing doesn’t change your life.
Work does! 💯
When I started my first business, I can’t even tell you how many nights I sat at the kitchen counter, laptop open, working after my babies were asleep. Every part of me wanted to crawl under the covers, flip on the TV, and zone out until I fell asleep. But I didn’t. I showed up anyway.
And that effort compounded. Little by little, it changed the entire course of my life. That business grew into a full-time income, allowing me to never have to return to my teaching job so I could be HOME with my babies. It allowed us to move into our dream home in Florida, invest in multiple properties, and even gave us the freedom to relocate back to Massachusetts for a year when my dad was diagnosed with AML — something I’ll forever be grateful for.🙏
That didn’t come from wishing. It came from showing up on the nights when it would’ve been easier not to. That’s where the transformation happens. That’s where the future you want gets built.
So if you’re grinding right now and wondering if it’s worth it, hear me: IT IS!! Every ounce of effort is adding up to something bigger than you can even see yet.
📢 QUOTE OF THE WEEK!

Simple. Straight up. Life-changing if you actually live it. Write it down, stick it on your fridge, put it on your phone wallpaper — whatever it takes to keep this truth front and center when you’re tempted to just wish instead of work.
